Killer Mike to be honored at City Hall on Monday

Award-winning rapper, activist and entrepreneur Michael “Killer Mike" Render will be honored at Atlanta City Hall on Monday with a reception and proclamation.

The reception begins at noon, followed by the presenting of the proclamation.

The event is at 55 Trinity Ave.

Render is known for his community work, particularly  with the anti-violence organization, Black Teens for Advancement and the Atlanta/Fulton Commission on Children and Youth’s Kids 4 a Change, which promotes community participation and improvement.

Render was also very active during the 2016 presidential campaign and was a big supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders.

The day is likely to be bittersweet for Render, who recently lost his mother, Denise.

This isn’t the Atlanta native has been recognized for his community work. He was also honored by the Georgia Senate.
