Favorite architectural elements: The use of clerestory glass — long bands of windows above eye level — and frosted windows to create natural light and open spaces. Also, the exterior features concrete, wood, glass, aluminum and cementitious stucco, which Nejad liked because of its low-maintenance qualities and connection to nature.
Interior design style: Modern
Favorite interior design elements: The custom cabinetry and appliances with no handles and sensors that allow them to open and close; the kitchen island with waterfall Cambria quartz countertops and reclaimed wood details; additional use of reclaimed wood, including a sliding door to the pantry, around the bar and island, and as a coffee table.
Most unusual accessory: The jellyfish tank, located next to the dining table. "It's so relaxing to watch them," Nejad said.
Favorite outdoor elements: The backyard pool and cabana, where the cantilever roof was designed to serve a waterfall into the pool.
