Holly Bacon brought a tribal vibe into a new traditional home in Milton.

To make the interior design decisions even more challenging, she needed to merge her furniture and artwork with those belonging to husband Brook, whom she married in 2014.

They selected a lot overlooking a quarry and waterfall in Edward Andrews Homes’ Lake Haven of Crabapple. Almost immediately, the couple had to select colors, finishes and cabinets. They also had to decide where to place electrical outlets throughout the large home and tackle bigger details, such as adding a screened porch with a grill and fireplace.

She combined wood and wrought iron furniture and accessories, and colors such as burnt orange, greens and blues in textiles, curtains and pillows. Holly also brought in pieces from her parents’ former Italian painted furniture company, Patina; their business now is called Porte Italia.

“Growing up, my mom was a designer. I was around good design for long time,” she said. “My home has a certain style. I like things that are very eclectic and colorful.”
