Lanterns are a unique way to highlight your outdoor living space. With an option to light a candle or use battery-operated lights, outdoor lanterns offer small dose of light for a fresh ambiance.

2. Made of handcrafted wood and painted white, the Bay Harbor Lantern from Pier 1 Imports has a modern, coastal look. A small door attached by a stainless steel latch opens to a space for a tealight candle, which mimics a lighthouse when lit. It is rust-resistant ($29.95, pier1.com).
3. The cylinder shape and rustic fir wood frame give the Hollingsworth Lantern from Birch Lane a rustic touch. Held together by glass and metal accents, the lantern can be hung from the ceiling from a chain or placed on a tabletop. The lantern holds one pillar candle ($119, birchlane.com).
4. Home Design Studio's Starry Lights Mason Jar from Macy's gives outdoor tables and living areas a warm glow. When turned on, a string of 10 LED illuminate the glass jar. The lantern, powered by AAA batteries (not included) can be sealed with the copper lid. It has a copper handle ($25, macys.com).
5. The wicker latticework gives a crafted look to the Ormond Lantern from Birch Lane. The ceramic material has a weathered finish that gives an outdoor space an artistic, beachy style. The lantern comes in small and large sizes ($39, birchlane.com).
6. The Home Design Studio Wood Candle Lantern from Macy's adds modern flare. Glass panels are held together by a dark wood frame giving it a rectangular structure.
