For your inspiration and beyond, we’ve rounded up some of the most fantastic kitchens that have been featured in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Private Quarters.

In 1999 Gene and Nancy Hooff decided to renovate their main floor, reconfiguring the L-shaped kitchen into a more open space and adding a butler’s pantry to accommodate a renovation to the adjacent master bedroom. The glass inserts in the doors of the cabinets in Amanda and Philippe Pellerin’s kitchen came from the historic windows of their home, which was built in the 1890s, that they had to replace when they renovated in 2014. Pendant lights from West Elm and white countertops contrast with the dark blue cabinets, painted Farrow & Ball Railings No. 31, in Kevin and Latonda Henderson’s Westview home. The pendants, along with canisters, planters and cutting boards from Target and HomeGoods, give the kitchen hints of warmer color to balance the cooler base palette. Text by Shannon Dominy. On the counter in the kitchen is one of Jeannie Waldman’s favorite accent pieces in her home, a Nico Large Bowl in aqua by Cyan Design filled with faux tulips that add a touch of freshness to the space. The contemporary kitchen is bright and industrial with subtle accents like the tulips, the mercury glass candle holders and the sparkling pendant lights to add hints of warmth. A built-in china cabinet and coffee bar are fitted into the wall beside the pantry in Jenniffer and Michael Marblestone’s Acworth home. Instead of traditional cabinets and counters, Michael and Jenniffer Marblestone designed a custom free-standing stained wooden cabinet that fits around their appliances and forms a barrier between the kitchen and stairway, without adding another wall. Brown bar stools from Target add a warmer neutral tone in the living space of Shelly and David McIntosh’s home. “I wanted there to be a subtle change in color. I mean it would be really easy to do everything in black and white, but I wanted to keep it neutral, but still introduce the browns and the taupes,” said Shelly.
