Fine Redesign: LUBE of Atlanta
Designer Lynda Burgess of kitchen retailer Cucine LUBE created this kitchen in her Mayfair Renaissance condo. See photos of how she achieved her goal of increasing the style and functionality of a 10 by 10 space.

![DESIGN ELEMENTS: Burgess selected oak cabinetry stained a deep chocolate to resemble wenge, an exotic wood. The designer also imported this stainless steel island from Italy, and used creamy travertine for the flooring. "When you [design] for your job, other people make the decisions. But when it's your home, you agonize over everything," she said. PROJECT GOAL: Lynda Burgess, a designer with the Atlanta branch of kitchen retailer Cucine LUBE, created this kitchen in the Mayfair Renaissance condo she shares with her fiance. The couple likes to stay in and cook, so her goal was to increase the style and functionality. "Now we seldom eat out," she said. BIGGEST SPLURGE: Appliances, which include a Wolf oven, warming drawer and microwave, as well as a Sub-Zero refrigerator and wine cooler. Retail cost -- about $20,000, she said.
