Toys "R" Us is planning to hire about 1,000 people in Georgia this holiday season.

The toy retailer is adding more than 40,000 employees at stores and distribution centers nationwide, about the same number as in previous years. In the past, Toys "R" Us said, it has brought on between 35,000 and 45,000 temporary workers.

The temporary jobs may become permanent, Toys "R" Us said, and about 10 percent of the company's 2010 holiday workforce  is still employed at the company.

Hiring for the jobs begins this week, and continues through November. To apply for jobs, visit www.ruscareers.com.
