It might be a little bit brighter for Santa this Christmas.
Experts calculate the moon will hit its peak at 6:11 a.m. Christmas Day, the first full moon since 1977, according to The Weather Channel. That means the full moon will best be viewed on Christmas Eve.
The two events are not expected to align again until 2034, according to The Weather Channel.
December's full moon, the last of the year, is nicknamed the Full Long Night's Moon as well as Full Cold Moon. It also can be called the Moon Before Yule.
