A man found himself at the bottom of the list of wise men after police said he drunkenly crashed a car and attempted to hide from authorities - in a nativity scene.

Early Saturday morning officers responded to the crash in Tadcaster, England, and found the man hiding among the Christmas display's hay bales, according to the Telegraph. North Yorkshire Police arrested the suspect after he failed a roadside breath test, officers said.

Police later posted news of the arrest on Twitter, where it was met with a flurry of Christmas-themed puns and quips. Even officers got in on the fun, with North Yorkshire traffic cop Andrew Ingram joking that police "certainly had room at the inn for this driver."
