According to  PIX11, Macy's in New York City had two Santas on the job this year, one Caucasian, one African American.  Santa's faithful just had to ask an elf to be pointed to the right line.

But as PIX11  reports, many shoppers didn't know they could chose a Santa of color to hear their Christmas wishes or that they had to ask.  Macy's doesn't advertise the fact, and it's all by word of mouth.

There is no indication how long the store has been offering another Santa choice, but according to CBS New York , one shopper has been taking her child to the African American Santa for 10 years.

CNN  reports that there are three separate areas, accessed by request at the end of a long line, that the Santa faithful will be ushered into, wating to meet the "special" Santa.
