Christmas parades in Atlanta this weekend

Children's parade in Midtown is one of several holicday parades in metro Atlanta

Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta will be transformed into Santa Claus Lane with the sights and sounds of the season. Enjoy the splendor of the holidays for the biggest holiday parade in the southeast- featuring festive floats, marching bands, live performances and much more.

But Midtown is not the only setting for a holiday parade this week. Here are the details on the Children's parade and several more.

The Children's Christmas Parade 2013
Date: 10:30 a.m. December 7
Venue: Midtown Atlanta

City of Douglasville Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting
Date: 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec 6
Description: The city of Douglasville puts on one of the largest Christmas parades and tree lighting ceremonies in the area. The night kicks off with a parade and concert that leads right into the Christmas tree lighting in downtown Douglasville. Santa will also be present to visit and take pictures with children.
