Day in and day out, the compassion and kindness they provide to their patients is immeasurable.

For the 13th consecutive year, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and ajcjobs is honoring and celebrating nurses throughout metro Atlanta and Georgia.

Again this year, from over 900 nominations, an independent panel of judges will choose 10 extraordinary nursing professionals to represent thousands of their colleagues at the annual Nursing Excellence Awards.

Held during National Nurses Week, May 6-12, this year’s luncheon was held on May 8 at Cobb Galleria.

What makes these awards special is that anyone can nominate a nurse who has made a difference in their life or the life of a loved one over the last year.

Here are the Top 10 honorees from 2018, who went above and beyond the call of duty to make a significant impact on their patients:
