Set your watch alarms for 10 a.m.

According to AsapScience, that is the ideal time to consume your morning coffee because the production of cortisol, the "stress hormone" associated with the way the body naturally wakes itself up, generally peaks between 8 and 9 a.m. This corresponds with the time most people are filling up their mugs or heading to the nearest cafe.

The site adds that peak cortisol hours also happen between noon and 1 p.m. as well as 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., so drinking coffee during those hours lessens caffeine's effects, according to the article on HuffingtonPost.com.

“Cortisol levels do indeed increase about 50 percent right after you wake up, regardless of the time," according to the AsapScience video. "Science says, wait at least an hour to get your cup of joe and your body will be optimally ready to go.”

Coffee has already proven to help lower chances of liver and breast cancer as well as lower your chance of having erectile dysfunction.
