Report: Your instant ramen noodles could be killing you

Your humble, quick and cheap cup of instant ramen noodles has been linked to heart attacks and diabetes, with a new study finding that it and other instant noodle products may increase a person's risk for cardiometabolic syndrome, a risk factor for severe cardiovascular disease and stroke, especially in women.

Eating instant ramen twice or more a week is associated with the syndrome.

According to Yahoo Health, researchers believe the cause may be the fact that most of the instant noodle meals come in Styrofoam, which contains the known hormone disrupter bisphenol A (BPA).

Instant ramen also is high in saturated fat, and contains MSG and the chemical preservative and petroleum byproduct TBHQ.
