Learn to make the bread pudding from Stockyard Burgers in Marietta:
Three dear friends and I went out to dinner to celebrate one of their birthdays at Stockyard Burgers in Marietta Square. After we had a fabulous meal, we asked if they had any desserts. We were told that one of the desserts was a bread pudding (with no raisins!). The birthday girl chose that and it did not disappoint. It was amazing. We were all stunned that a hamburger place would have such an outstanding dessert. It was the best bread pudding we have ever tasted. To duplicate the recipe you’ll need to use H and F Bread’s PDM Buns as the base for the pudding. The “PDM” stands for “pain de mie,” a soft French white bread made with butter and a little sugar. Each bun weighs about 2-and-a-half ounces. You can usually find them at Grant Park Market and Savi Provisions in Inman Park. A possible substitute would be brioche or a sweet hamburger bun, something that comes in a package of about 8 buns per pound.
