Fifty years ago, Journal and Constitution photographer J.C. Lee took a series of innovative aerial photos capturing the growing, bustling city of Atlanta by night. Using the time-lapse technique, Lee focused on Atlanta's then-new highway system and skyline and the result is a visually rich mix of history and art that preserves our city at a moment when Atlanta was on the verge of blossoming into the major metropolis that we know today. Here's the first in the series: Downtown Atlanta, looking northwest, October 1964.
