Camping hammocks have been soaring in popularity in recent years, as more campers discover that sleeping above the ground can be more comfortable than the alternative. Even if you still prefer to sleep in a tent — preferably with a good air mattress underneath you — a hammock is a great campsite addition, excellent for reading and relaxing. The Doublenest Hammock from Eagle Nest Outfitters is made from high-tenacity nylon — meaning it’s very sturdy and very lightweight. At 19 ounces, it’s easy to store in a backpack and compresses into a 5-inch by 5-inch pouch. It comes with all the gear you’ll need to attach it to a couple of trees and start your vacation.

Once set up, the hammock is 9-feet, 4-inches long and 6-feet, 2-inches wide. It can fit two people sitting upright. Sleeping two gets a bit snug, but it’s certainly doable. Sleeping solo feels spacious, and as the double is $10 more than the single. You may even find yourself scouting trees in your own backyard to set this up without having to deal with the rest of camping.
