When it comes to keeping the body in tip-top condition, Atlantans aren't doing so shabby, according to the American Fitness Index, an initiative that measures the overall health and wellness of America.

The Big Peach ranks No. 14 among the top 20 fittest cities out of the 50 largest U.S. cities ranked.

The annual report, published by the American College of Sports Medicine, analyzed data such as obesity and chronic disease rates, recreation facilities and policies to determine the metropolitan areas with the healthiest environments.

Atlanta's growing number of fitness classes, park playgrounds and golf courses has helped the city climb from No. 21 to its current position in just three years. Way to keep the the sweat going, Atlanta.
