A question I get asked pretty often is where to find groups and events related to technology in areas such as robotics, programming or getting better at social media.

There are a few options, the most extensive of which is probably meetup.com, where any group can set up a page and post regular meetings and events. The homepage of meetup.com has a search box where you can find groups or events within a set range of miles of any city or ZIP code.

Eventbrite, a tool to organize events, also can be used to find groups through their meetings and events. Visit eventbrite.com/directory to search by category, event type, date or price. Using a map, you can set the geographic range you want to search.
