Father’s ‘iBaby’ announcement a global sensation

A former Apple employee from Germany decided to have a bit of fun when he created the baby announcement for his newborn son.

In fact, Andreas Kleinke created an entire website announcing his son's arrival, designed to resemble a site promoting an Apple product.

Kleinke’s clever copy describes his newborn son as the “brand new mini.” He describes his son’s measurements as a “20-inch seamless unibody enclosure made from a single, solid block of beauty.” Kleinke goes on to say that his son is equipped with “two iSight cameras” and that his 10 fingers offer the “perfect multi-touch experience.”

New parents will especially appreciate the description of the “centrally placed loudspeaker” that has a “maximum volume going all the way up to 120 dB.” Kleinke further indicates that “parental sleep mode” is “disabled by default.”

The website indicates that Kleinke’s son comes with built-in apps, like “iEat,” “iPoop” and “iSleep.” The “gibberish language pack” is also installed.

Which carriers will Kleinke’s brand new mini be available on? Why, mom and dad, of course.

Today reports that Kleinke designed the website for family and friends, but was pleasantly surprised to see it go viral. Kleinke says he's received over 2,400 fan emails from around the world.
