With the AJC Peachtree Road Race right around the corner, it’s time to start brainstorming one of the best parts of the race – the costumes.
Since the race takes place on July Fourth, any patriotic enesemble could possibly make for a good costume. But with so many possible variations of the red, white and blue one could possibly chose, where do you begin?

1. Uncle Sam and Betty Ross

If you're feeling daring and extra patriotic, choose one of these costumes inspired by iconic American figures. It could also make a great couples costume idea.
2. Patriotic socks

If subtlety is more your style, a pair of American flag-inspired socks might do the trick. The socks are patriotic but won't garner too much attention. You can snatch a pair at your local Walmart or Target.
3. Red, white and blue tutu

All you need for this easy do-it-yourself costume is three rolls of red, white and blue colored tulle and some string. Measure the length of your waist before cutting the string, cut tulle into six-inch strips and then tie the tulle onto the string and voilà! You have yourself a patriotic tutu. 4. Rocky-inspired costume
This costume idea inspired by the popular Rocky film is an easy outfit to recreate for this year's race.
5. Bandana and sunglasses

An American flag-inspired bandana is an ideal way to keep sweat away your face. Throw on a pair of some American shades and you’re ready to go run.
