Braves fans on social media not kind toward Truist Park

Initial response to SunTrust Park becoming Truist Park is less than enthusiastic

The Braves’ home stadium, formerly known as SunTrust Park, has a new name: Truist Park.

The sun has set on SunTrust Park.

On Tuesday, the Braves and Truist, the bank formed by the merger of SunTrust and BB&T, announced the stadium’s new name is Truist Park.

The stadium had been called SunTrust since it opened in 2017.

Social media was quick to respond, and the initial reaction was less than enthusiastic.

But a few people were OK with the name.
