Norman the Scooter Dog, a guest on the Late Show with David Letterman, YouTube sensation and star of his own website, should be able to add world record holder to his titles.

He became the first dog to break the 30-second mark in riding a scooter 30 meters in Marietta Friday. He pushed his way across the finish line in 20.75 seconds, blasting the old record by nearly 10 seconds.

“We made it with plenty of time to spare,” said Karen Cobb, Norman’s Cherokee County owner.

“Guinness [World Records] will give us verification in two to four weeks,” she said.

The stunt raised nearly $600 for Road Trip Home, a nonprofit that takes dogs from shelters where they put animals to sleep and helps them find homes.
