The Atlanta Ballet’s upcoming show at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is a great option for a cheap date this weekend.

Opening March 18, the ballet's "20/20: Visionary" show will include three works, including "Home in 7," inspired by spoken word artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph's time at Morehouse College.

The show blends Bamuthi’s poems with music from violinist and composer Daniel Bernard Roumain and choreographer Amy Seiwert.

“Home in 7” references the Atlanta Braves, Ebenezer Baptist Church and plenty of historical references as seen through the eyes of a black college student.

Elsewhere in the show, “Boiling Point” will showcase the “demanding athleticism of dance” and the world premiere of “Playground” by acclaimed British choreographer Darrell Grand Moultrie will evoke nostalgia for the “playfulness of childhood memories,” according to a press release.

Tickets for “20/20: Visionary” start at $25, but an opening night celebration will allow attendees to attend a pre-show party and have one cocktail for the same price.

The pre-show party will take place at Cinco Mexican Cantina at 6 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.

“20/20: Visionary” will begin at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre at 8 p.m.
