1. Go sightseeing around the city for the best fall foliage. Nature is giving you the perfect backdrop this season. All you need is a camera, some warm clothing and a date if you want to go on a mission to find all the best fall foliage around the city. Need some help? Georgia State Parks offers an online "Leaf Watch" travel planner with color updates, hiking trip recommendations and more. If you're looking for some relaxation time, here are the best Atlanta spots for leaf peeping.

2. Go for an art stroll through Castleberry Hill. There are few things as romantic as a simple stroll, especially on a chilly autumn night. On the second Friday of every month, Castleberry Hill opens an evening art stroll perfect for a relaxing yet cultural date night. Visit local, diverse galleries and breathe in all the talent the city has to offer.

3. Stay in and catch a football game. In the South, fall is synonymous with football season. Go tailgating for your favorite Atlanta team or if it's too chilly for you and your date to be outside, catch the Atlanta Falcons or a college ballgame on the screen as you snuggle up with some game day snacks — and your partner, of course. If football's not your thing, check your local listings for Atlanta United games to cheer on couchside.

4. Take advantage of free park day. The National Park Service holds entrance fee-free days throughout the year. Stop by Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, with a warm cup of cocoa and fall foods and set up a picnic for your date. If you're feeling a little more adventurous, it might be too cold to raft the rapids, but there's still plenty to explore on foot. Check out some of the park's popular hikes.

5. Set up camp in your back yard. Though a cozy bed might sound more appealing than sleeping outdoors in the cold weather, try to switch it up and have a camp night in your back yard. Set up a tent you own or borrow one from a friend, make some s'mores and cider, and cuddle up under the stars. If all else fails, just run back into the house and nobody has to know you two spent the rest of the night bingeing on Netflix. Who knows — maybe your camping adventure will inspire you to check out some alternatives to tent camping around Georgia.

6. Bike down the Beltline. If you both love the cool breeze in your hair, ride your bikes down the 22-mile Beltline loop at sunset and take a look at how artists turned the city into an al fresco gallery. If you're feeling hungry after your rides, stop and indulge in Krog Street Market's many restaurants and shops.
