Even death could not keep this loving couple apart for long.

Express reports that Italvino and Diva Possa met in 1948 at a dance in Brazil and had been married for 65 years. The couple had 10 children and 14 grandchildren. The family says that the couple never spent a day apart and were the most romantic couple they had ever met.

Italvino, 89, was battling leukemia while Diva, 80, was undergoing chemotherapy treatment for a bladder tumor. Recently, the couple’s health took a turn for the worse and they ended up in the hospital together.  As the couple’s health further declined, hospital staff members placed their beds side-by-side so the couple could hold hands.

Family members gathered and they were amazed at what took place next.

Italvino died first, and a relative whispered in Diva’s ear that he passed away peacefully.

Diva became peaceful as well and died just 40 minutes later.

A grandson commented that it was like his grandfather had opened the door, so they could both depart and be together forever.
