Possum Trot 10k and 1 Mile Fun Run
Help support the wildlife and programs at the Chattahoochee Nature Center and get your exercise on by running in the Possum Trot 10K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday.
The 40th Annual Possum Trot 10K will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Participants run along a flat, fast and scenic course along the scenic banks of the Chattahoochee River in Roswell. Proceeds will benefit the Chattahoochee Nature Center, a private non-profit education facility.
The Possum Trot is an official AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifying event. The race is limited to 1,500 runners. Post-race awards party including music, free items and awards for 13 age groups.
All runners receive free admission to the nature center’s 127 acres all day.

Atlanta Grilled Cheese Festival
This two-day festival celebrates an American favorite — the grilled cheese sandwich. Golden on the outside, oozing cheese on the inside. What’s not to love?
During the Atlanta Grilled Cheese Festival, local restaurants will serve up their takes on the grilled cheese sandwich during the event, which will be held June 16 -17. Try three or four — or all — of them and then cast your vote for the "Best Grilled Cheese" in Atlanta.
In addition to food, there will be brews, contests, activities and live music with performances from acts such as Le Wow, the Chris Hamrick Band and Citizen Gold.
Tickets include admission to the event, three complimentary grilled cheese samples, plus live music, access to the adult game zone and beer garden.

Never Too Much: A Luther Story
He charmed audiences worldwide with his soulful vocals, but many people don’t know the story of Luther Vandross.
This performances takes you back to his early years as a songwriter and session singer for artists such as Roberta Flack and David Bowie. The audience will be treated to recreations of his live performances during the show at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre in the Marietta Square.

It stars Danny Clay, known from the “Steve Harvey Show” and Tyler Perry’s “Madea’s Big Happy Family.”
“It’s an honor to be portraying my ultimate idol,” Clay said. “I’ve been singing his songs for years and this is the first time I’ve been able to study his real life.”
The supporting ensemble portrays many characters including Luther’s best friend, David Bowie, and his mother. All of these people supported Luther on his journey, instilling confidence in him when he didn’t believe in himself.

The Whispers and Kirk Whalum
The Whispers, with special guest jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum, will take the stage during the Wade Ford Concert Series on Saturday at the Mable House Amphitheatre in Mableton.
