The platinum-selling rock band Collective Soul will perform a benefit concert Saturday at the Southern Ground Amphitheater, 301 LaFayette Ave., Fayetteville.

Proceeds will benefit six area non-profits, including the Children’s Village at Christian City.

The Georgia-based group is observing its 20th anniversary this year and will release a new CD later this summer.

A silent auction will be held throughout the evening, including items from “The Waking Dead”, “The Vampire Diaries” and Drop Dead Diva.”

Drop Dead Diva Executive Producer Robert J. Wilson organized the event to honor the memory of the late Sarah Jones. Jones died tragically in February while working on the Greg Allman biopic “Midnight Rider”.

The concert benefits the Real Life Center, AVPRIDE, Bloom, Dare to Make a Change, the Sarah Jones Scholarship Fund and the Children’s Village at Christian City.
