Looking to see a flick from a new vantage point?

Throughout the upcoming weeks, Ponce City Market will show movies on the rooftop.

"Catch your favorite flick from new heights at Movies on the Roof," according to a Facebook event post "We're playing classics and new favorites every Wednesday evening at 8:30pm, so grab popcorn and settle in — we'll be here all summer."

Guests who buy an unlimited gameplay wristband for Skyline Park or who make a reservation at 9 Mile station will have access to the movie. Tickets can be purchased in advance here. The rooftop offers adequate space for social distancing.

Ponce City Market’s rooftop reopened last month, with some new safety measures in place.

According to its website, the new safety measures include

  • Posted CDC guidelines, including general guidelines in the bathrooms for guests and detailed procedures for kitchen staff members.
  • Being cashless, issuing electronic receipts and disposing menus after each use.
  • Limiting elevator capacity to nine people to allow for distancing.
  • Having hand sanitizer available throughout for guests and staff members.
  • All spaces will be marked for social distancing.
  • Restaurant capacity will be limited and reconfigured to meet proper distancing.
  • Things like tables, stools and game equipment will be sanitized after every use.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
