"Married to Medicine" star Dr. Jacqueline Walters, known as Dr. Jackie, will be among the cast of the eighth annual " Dancing Stars of Atlanta ."
The annual dancing contest is patterned after the popular show, "Dancing with the Stars." It raises funds for the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter . Like the show, it pairs local Atlantans, some perhaps stars in their professions though not necessarily household names, with professional dancers to raise money through votes during a one-night dance competition.
Every vote costs $1.
The upcoming cast includes Ken Covers, a Realtor at Engel & Völkers Intown; Suzanne Dansby , a community volunteer; Chris Foster, owner and executive director of A Hand To Hold; Tara Byrne Garner, a developed at Big Canoe Co.; Sandra Hutto, a retired benefits specialists; Teri Schneider, an Peachtree Ridge High School educator and assistant coach for the cheer team; Dino Thompson-Sarmiento, CEO of Blue Flame Resources and Spotted Blue Agency; Dr. Nino Valishvili, a certified clinical research coordinator at NeuroStudies.net; and Dr. Farzana Virani, an optometrist at Mt. Vernon Eye Care.
It will be held at 6 p.m. May 6 at the Cobb Galleria Centre .
