Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta to honor 2020 graduates in virtual event

The virtual commencement event will honor 100 teens in metro Atlanta

The district already announced that graduation ceremonies will be held in cyberspace, but that doesn’t mean the pomp and circumstance has to be diminished. Planning for this virtual graduation experience is underway and includes traditional elements such as student speeches, music, and recognition of each graduate.

In an attempt to still make the graduation season special for the class of 2020, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta will honor graduates in a virtual event.

"We're asking family, friends, mentors, and supporters of all kind to SHOW UP virtually for our amazing teens! Help us Celebrate and Congratulate the BGCMA Graduating Class of 2020 on all of their many accomplishments and hard work," the Boys & Girls Club wrote on its website.

The BGCMA Virtual Senior Breakthrough event will include scholarship announcements and awards, as well as a chance to hear from seniors, parents and staff.

The 30-minute event will honor 100 teens in metro Atlanta.

It will be live streamed for community members to join in on the celebration. More information can be found here.

Supporters can also donate to the Boys & Girls club through its website.
