Every month, Creative Mornings features a notable Atlantan speaking on various topics. People like Shirley Franklin, Ryan Gravel and Fabian Williams have all taken the stage in the past.

The only drawback: tickets are limited and the talks happen on weekday mornings. However, amid the coronavirus outbreak, the talks are available via streaming — making them more widely accessible to the public.

Later this month, Atlanta-based artist Shanequa Gay will host the next talk in the series. Gay will speak at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 24 on the topic of "purpose."

Gay, an Atlanta native, has artwork across the city. Recently, she had a site-specific installation at Hammonds House Museum called “Lit Without Sherman: A Love Letter to the West End.”

Before that, she was among the artists who participated in the city-wide mural effort ahead of the Super Bowl.

Registration for the online lecture opens at 9 a.m.
