Mariah Carey finally sells Atlanta mansion at $1.35 million loss

Mariah Carey’s Atlanta mansion has a new owner

Fast facts about singer and songwriter Mariah Carey.

Music icon Mariah Carey has reportedly found a buyer for her Atlanta mansion, though the Grammy Award-winning artist took a significant loss on the sale. Carey purchased the colonial estate in an off-market transaction back in Nov. 2021 for $5.65 million. Less than a year later, she placed the home on the market for $6.5 million.

Mansion Global reported on Wednesday that Carey’s Sandy Springs home has now been purchased for a much lower $4.3 million — a $1.35 million loss for the “All I want for Christmas Is You” singer. Michael Dickey, chief executive of Atlanta-based magazine publisher Modern Luxury Media, purchased the home, which was brokered by Christie’s International Real Estate.

Carey’s former Atlanta home is a sprawling 12,575 square feet and rests upon four private acres of land. It’s a colonial-style home with nine bedrooms, nine bathrooms and four half bathrooms. The estate features a pool, pool house, tennis courts, a three-car garage, an entertainment pavilion and much more.

“Beautifully crafted details throughout include crown moldings and millwork, intricate coffered ceilings, arched doorways, and beautiful spaces,” according to Realtor Shanna Bradley’s listing. “A dream kitchen is the center and heart of the home and features a massive marble topped center island, ceiling-height bespoke cabinetry, a suite of premium appliances and sunny breakfast alcove. A wall of French doors floods the main living area with light and leads to the ultimate backyard complete with heated pool, pool house & entertainment pavilion, tennis court and a charming series of gardens.”

According to Realtor.com, the house was previously rented by “Fast and Furious” star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“Designed to indulge, the glamorous oversized primary bedroom suite features a dressing room, private balcony, morning bar, luxe fireplace surrounded by custom built-ins, lavishly appointed bath and enormous closet with custom shelving and storage,” according to the listing. “Finished to perfection, the expansive daylight terrace level offers a state-of-the-art home theatre, workout room, private guest suite and living room with fireplace open to a large outdoor entertaining/play area.”
