Jason Isbell already has plans if Joe Biden wins the state of Georgia in the presidential election.

Late Thursday night, the Alabama native who has always maintained close ties to and affection for Georgia (he’s a devout Atlanta Braves fan), announced on Twitter that a Biden win will prompt him to record a charity album of covers of his favorite Georgia songs.

As of Friday afternoon, Biden maintains a slight lead in the state, but a recount is expected.

Some names he tossed out initially included R.E.M., Gladys Knight, Cat Power and The Allman Brothers Band.

Fans on social media embraced the idea and quickly began offering suggestions, such as beloved ’90s-era Athens band The Glands ("Of COURSE I gotta sing “see the lady with the poodle that’s the color of tomatoes…in a bad way,” Isbell responded, quoting the band’s “Straight Down”).

Other artists namechecked by fans as possibilities included The Black Crowes (“I’d go ‘Thorn’ or ‘Sometimes Salvation’,” Isbell responded), Drivin N Cryin and Pylon.

Another fan offered the possibility of Isbell covering Outkast. His response?

“I mean, if I CAN.”

In October, Isbell played the first major concert in Atlanta since the pandemic started at the inaugural “Live from the Drive-In” series in the parking lot of Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta.
