McDonald’s is bringing a new menu item to select U.S. stores. The Chicken Big Mac, a poultry spin on a fast food classic, is launching in Miami later this month, according to Insider.

While the Chicken Big Mac first launched in Australia a half decade ago, much like the rock music icons of yore, the experimental culinary item did not become popular until it found its way into the U.K. Just 10 days after launching in the U.K., the sandwich was sold out.

A company spokesperson told Insider that is was McDonald’s “most popular launch ever.”

McDonald’s confirmed to Insider that they are trying the new sandwich at Miami-area locations for a limited time. If the Chicken Big Mac proves popular enough, a representative hinted that a national launch may be in the future.

“We’re always looking to give our fans more ways to enjoy the classic menu items they know and love,” a representative told Insider.

“While not everything we test makes it on our US menus, we’ll use this time to gather feedback from both customers and restaurant crew as we consider opportunities to offer more delicious options in the future.”

In her 2022 review of the chicken sandwich, Insider’s Kate Duffy said it wasn’t worth the five-year wait.

“Overall, the Chicken Big Mac didn’t blow me away,” she said in her review. “I think I’ll stick to ordering Chicken McNuggets in the future.”

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
