While the “Mad Max” prequel “Furiosa” is not due to hit theaters for nearly another two years, images from the upcoming film’s shooting have already made their way onto the internet. While the photos do not reveal anything in terms of the movie’s plot, they do offer a quick look at some of the movie’s high-octane, post-apocalyptic vehicles.

“I didn’t set out to make a big, epic movie,” director and “Mad Max” series creator George Miller said, according to Movie Web. “It’s a story I wanted to tell. But as it turns out, it’s just got a lot of different scenes. The one thing I can say about it is, Fury Road happened over three days and two nights, but this is a saga. It happens over many years. So there’s a lot of different elements to it.”

The flick is currently being filmed in Australia and little is known about its plot. While Charlize Theron took on the role for “Mad Max: Fury Road,” the iconic actor will not be reprising Furiosa for the upcoming prequel film. “The Northman” star Anya Taylor-Joy will be starring as the intrepid survivor instead, with Chris Hemsworth taking on the role of the movie’s antagonist.

“Furiosa” is set to release May 24, 2024.
