A “Working Girl” reboot, based on the 1988 comedy starring Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford, is currently in the works with Selena Gomez as the producer.

The original film, which was directed by the legendary Mike Nichols, told the story of Tess McGill (Griffith), a secretary who gets back at her boss (Sigourney Weaver) by pretending to be her while the boss recovers from a broken leg. The film also featured Alec Baldwin and Joan Cusack.

The film received five Academy Award nominations, including best actress for Griffith and best supporting actress for Weaver and Cusack.

Griffith celebrated the film’s 30th anniversary in 2018 with an Instagram post saying, “30 years ago today Working Girl opened in theaters world wide. I am so grateful to have played Tess McGill and to have helped empower women all of these years.”

“I am so grateful and proud to have been a part of this marvelous cast and especially grateful to our director Mike Nichols,” Griffith went on to say. “So happy it stands the test of time. So... here’s to all of the working people who dare to dream big and who have the courage to believe in themselves against all odds!”

While Gomez plans to serve as producer on the project, no director has been announced. Gomez has produced multiple projects, including Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why,” and currently serves as an executive producer and stars in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.”
