Nicki Minaj has new music on the way. But the “Moment For Life” rapper says there will be a delay.
Minaj announced the album via social media in June, with a release date planned for October. However, in an Instagram post on Thursday, the singer revealed that there will be a slight delay. Fans, who have been waiting for a new album for years, would be forgiven for being a little disappointed. But Minaj’s tease that the delay was caused by something “really exciting” has the Barbz — as her fans are called — eager for more information.
“Dear Barbz, I’ve been trying to find the right time to tell you this for a few days,” said Minaj on the Instagram post. “Due to some really exciting news that I’ll share with you guys @ a later time, I’ve shifted the album date just a tad bit. Trust me, it’ll be WELL WORTH THE WAIT”
“Since I AM shifting the date just a tad, I’d like to give you guys a tiny SIP of some more album tea so that I don’t have to get cussed out 🙁 so…here it goes: 🎀MY NEW ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED ON 11.17.23-” said Minaj.
Fans immediately started to speculate about the reason for the delay. Some wondered if the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper was pregnant — despite Minaj teasing a tour in the first quarter of 2024.
“I love you guys so much. I am so grateful for the years of support & love you guys have given me. At times maybe I didn’t even deserve all that you have poured into me,” Minaj wrote.
While fans wait for more information, Minaj is keeping them happy with photos of the album artwork, and with her collaboration with Ice Spice on “Barbie World.”
