Netflix has announced a new stage play they are producing based on their hugely-popular sci-fi drama “Stranger Things,” which just released the second half of its fourth season last week. The play will be set within the Stranger Things universe and is just the most recent upcoming project for the busy Duffer Brothers.

The Duffers, who first created Stranger Things in 2016, signed a nine-figure overall deal with Netflix in 2019 to create five additional projects with the streaming giant. They have already announced two projects within the world of “Stranger Things,” as well as a new live-action series based on the beloved Japanese manga, “Death Note.”

Netflix announced the “new stage play set within the world and mythology of Stranger Things” on Twitter.

“Matt and Ross are an exceptionally unique talent with a vision so crisp and clear,” said Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos.”They are all about the details. It’s no accident that ‘Stranger Things’ has pierced the zeitgeist to become the epic pop culture phenomenon it is today. We’re excited to continue telling new stories with them as they grow Upside Down Pictures”

The fourth season of “Stranger Things” just finished, and was a massive critical and commercial success. It’s no wonder that Netflix is betting on the Duffer brothers.
