Kenya Barris and his wife Dr. Rania “Rainbow” Barris have filed for divorce after more than 20 years of marriage.

According to legal documents obtained by People, the two cited “irreconcilable differences” in their filing. They will share custody of their four children, and spousal support will be paid from Kenya to Rania.

This isn’t the first time the couple have been down this road. In 2014 Raina filed for divorce, but withdrew her request for reasons unknown. A few years later, in 2019, Kenya filed for divorce, before the pair reconciled again.

The two began their love story in 1999 and their marriage was the inspiration for the television hits “Black-ish”, “Mixed-ish” and “Grown-ish”.

On the subject of using his personal life in his television shows, Kenya Barris was very honest about channeling home for inspiration.

“When I was growing up, I never saw couples fight on the family sitcoms I loved to watch,” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2018 “Marital issues weren’t a part of the narrative that television told me was a ‘working relationship.’”

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
