15-time Grammy winner and songstress Alicia Keys first turned heads in 2001 when her hit song “Fallin” broke the charts. Later, in 2016 Keys would start another buzz as she spearheaded the no makeup movement.

“I felt like I had to please people and be perfect. I was holding onto all these standards of beauty and I rebelled to find my voice to discover who I want to be and how I want to be.” Keys said in a video on the Key Soulcare website.

While the mother of two continues to express herself freely through music and creating her own beauty standards - fans were a little surprised to hear that her new line Key Soulcare does involve colored makeup.

With naturally sourced ingredients like turmeric, marula oil, sage, rose of Jericho, manuka honey, snow mushrooms, aloe, and avocado oil - Keys describes her line as abridge between skin care and color - a line focusing on highlighting the naturally beautiful parts of you while giving you a little tint and glow.

The brand was first launched in 2020, highlighting a number of skin and body products - all of which include an affirmation package. The affirmations are written by Keys herself helping remind those to put themselves first.

While diving into skin care and a new routine can be a bit scary - Keys has various videos on the Key Soulcare website teaching you how to use the products, why you should care about body care and her journey on rituals and self discovery.
