On Tuesday, the Atlanta Braves announced that they will venture into the metaverse, becoming the first MLB team to do so, with Digital Truist Park,

This project, powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine technology, will allow fans to experience the ballpark and The Battery Atlanta from the comfort of home. Fans will be able to create and customize avatars, explore exclusive areas such as the Braves Clubhouse, meet and interact with other fans from around the world, play games and more.

“It’s exciting to create a new way for our fans to connect with our team and their favorite ballpark,” Derek Schiller, Atlanta Braves president & CEO, said in a news release. “The digital version of Truist Park will offer limitless opportunities to create unique fan engagements in the metaverse and we are proud to be the first team to offer this immersive experience.”

The Braves, MLB and partner SURREAL Events will host a first look in April, according to the release. For more information, visit www.Braves.com/DigitalTruistPark.
