The dark, violence-laced exhibit features the works of Sarah Emerson, one of the 2014/2015 winners of the museum's Working Artist Project grant. Emerson describes her paintings as depicting a "make-believe world dominated by terror management theory and symbolic totems that represent our collective desire to be optimistic and innocent in tumultuous times."
