A Christmas Carol

Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker

Holiday Lights of Hope, last day

Opens 6 p.m. every night through Dec. 22 at Hobgood Park. Don't miss this Woodstock hometown Christmas tradition. Walk through a scene of over 1,000,000 LED holiday lights, a 30-foot-tall Christmas Light Tree, 17-foot-tall reindeer and 15-foot-tall snowmen family. The event also features a Santa village, children's area, vendors, concessions, live music and more. The celebration benefits the Anna Crawford Children's Center. Wednesday, Dec. 23

The Santaland Diaries - Adults only

8 p.m. at Horizon Theatre. From the work of NPR comedian David Sedaris, this 90-minute adults-only show tells the tale of Crumpet, an unemployed writer who takes a job as an elf at Macy's during Christmas. Thursday, Dec. 24

B.o.B. at The Music Room

8 p.m. at Smith's Olde Bar. Kick off the holiday weekend with a live session with rapper B.o.B. a.k.a. Bobby Ray. Tickets to see the six-time nominated rapper/songwriter from Atlanta perform live this Thursday are $30 in advance, $40 day of the show. Event details at smithsoldebar.com

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

10 a.m., 12 p.m. or 2 p.m. at Center for Puppetry Arts. Get in the holiday spirit for this year's adapted play based on the timeless animated television special. Fantasy in Lights 2015

Through Jan. 2, 2016, at  Callaway Gardens. Spend Christmas at this spectacular light and sound show with some friends, family or a date and enjoy what National Geographic Traveler calls one of the world's "Top 10 Places to See Holiday Lights." Ice Skating in Atlanta

Through Jan. 10. Christmas hours are 1-11 p.m. at Centennial Olympic Park. Not only is spending an evening at an ice rink a romantic holiday date idea, but it's fun for family and friends, too. Saturday, Dec. 26

Glenn Phillips Band

Doors open at 6:30. Sets at 8 p.m. or 10 p.m. at Steve's Live Music in Sandy Springs. This day-after-Christmas concert features music from guitarist and composer Glenn Phillips who has 12 critically acclaimed albums to his name. Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers
