Sunday in the Park at Atlanta's Oakland Cemetery, where Margaret Mitchell is buried, is an annual festival that began in 1989 and includes food, storytelling and folks dressed in Victorian-style outfits.

Contestants for the Victorian costume contest line up under the shade of a magnolia tree during Sunday in the Park. The event included an artists market, caricature artist, scavenger hunts, living history demonstrations, Irish dancers, author book signings and storytellers.

Sunday in the Park is a Victorian style street festival, inviting people to stroll through Atlanta's most famous cemetery. The event featured food from The Varsity, Six Feet Under, LottaFrutta and others. More than 4,000 guests attended the event last year and even more were expected this year.

Dressed as a Civil War widow in the first stage of mourning, Carolyn Balog of Hampton, Ga., walks among the graves at Oakland Cemetery during Sunday in the Park. Among the performers was Doug Lothes doing 'Gone With the Wind in Twenty Minutes.'

A child's grave is decorated with a miniature pumpkin, very much in the way children's graves were decorated in the Victorian era. The cemetery was founded in 1850. Among Atlanta's famous buried there are golfer Bobby Jones, author Margaret Mitchell and former Mayor Maynard Jackson.
