Stone Mountain renovation

Stone Mountain is completing a $4 million renovation of Memorial Lawn, just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Stone Mountain completed a $4.1 million restoration of its Memorial Lawn just in time for Memorial Day in 2010.

Pavers replaced the old walkways.

Obstructions such as production towers and concession stands have been removed from the lawn, and more than 150 trees that had edged onto the lawn over the decades have been felled. The 13 terraces commemorating the Confederate states that bracket both sides of the lawn have been restored and will have reserved seating for the laser show, the park's top attraction.
