Alpharetta

The 2016 Alpharetta Memorial Day Tribute will start with music, followed by an invocation, the Posting of Colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, the singing of the National Anthem by Alpharetta High School students Isha Shrotriya and Michael Horton, an inspiring speech by Captain Alec Fraser, the Laying of the Wreath, a 21-Gun Salute and a performance of "Taps" by Alpharetta High School student Daniel Gelber.

Atlanta

If you enjoy listening to gospel music, you will love this year's Greater Body of Christ Temple Annual Memorial Day Festival happening at Central Park in Atlanta. This free event will feature musical performances by gospel choirs, recording artists and hip-hop artists, a singing contest and The Christian Johnson Basketball Classic Tournament. This family-friendly event has a little something for everyone and seeks to honor the men and women in the military through the inspiration of gospel music.

Spend a day with the Atlanta Braves celebrating the brave veterans of this nation on May 30 at Turner Field. The Atlanta Braves Military Appreciation Day will honor those who gave their lives in service of the country as well as active, reserve and veteran military. Each ticket price includes a Braves camo t-shirt and $3 of every ticket will benefit the United Service Organization of Georgia in salute of the USO's 75th anniversary.

Milton

Come down to Freedom Park in Milton on May 30 for the 9th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Hosted by The City of Milton, this year's event will feature a speech by Lieutenant General James Helmly, a presentation by The City of Milton Fire Department Color Guard and will end with a roll call of local veterans who sacrificed their lives for their country. If you arrive around 9 a.m., the local Boy Scouts will serve a fundraiser breakfast to enjoy before the ceremony begins.

Roswell

Celebrate veterans in a whole new way at the Chattahoochee Nature Center by taking part in the Memorial Day River Canoe Trip happening on May 30. Beginning at 9 a.m., naturalists will conduct a guided canoe ride down the Chattahoochee River.
