Weaning a cub Xi Lan's age is normal for wild giant pandas.

When Xi Lan is completely weaned, the zoo will try to breed mother Lun Lun and father Yang Yang again. The pair already have produced two cubs, Xi Lan and sister Mei Lan.

The zoo keeps different varieties of bamboo in the fridge and serves what the pandas are in the mood for.

Xi Lan's name means "Atlanta's Joy" in Chinese. It was unveiled at a 100 Day Celebration.

Xi Lan is now on exhibit by himself. In the wild, giant pandas are solitary animals.

The giant panda can be watched live on the zoo's Panda Cam.
