ALPHARETTA
HamJam
No, not the spiral-sliced kind of ham: This event is for amateur radio lovers, as well as those with a curiosity about the world of ham radio. The North Fulton Amateur Radio League invites people of all ages, especially youth interested in science, technology, engineering and math subjects, for a day centered around their passion. Three guest speakers, including Jamie Dupree of Cox Radio, will share their love of ham. Guests also will have the opportunity to win prizes, including gift certificates and equipment. All proceeds will benefit programs for youth education and scholarships. 73! (Attendees will learn that’s ham lingo for signing off.)
8 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 14. Free. Metropolitan Club, 5895 Windward Parkway, Alpharetta. 404-434-4499, hamjam.info.

Dessert Tasting
Soon, it will be getting chilly outside, so add a little winter weight the tastiest way possible: a dessert tasting. J.
