MARIETTA
Marietta Greek Festival
Opa! The Marietta Greek Festival is back to delight attendees, be they from the Mediterranean or not. The three-day event features a marketplace with jewelry, cookbooks, linens and art. Performance stages will offer a variety of music and dance revues, including one that’s all about wedding dances. Cooking demonstrations and activities for the kids are also in the lineup. But the real treat is always the array of authentic food — souvlaki, spanakopita, gyro wraps and baklava (plain or with ice cream). A portion of the proceeds goes to local charities.
3-11 p.m. May 15; 10 a.m.-11 p.m. May 16; 11 a.m.-6 p.m. May 17. $4 daily; $5 for weekend passes; free for children 12 and younger. Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 3431 Trickum Road, Marietta. 770-924-8080, mariettagreekfestival.org.

Be prepared to laugh: The theater has a strict “No bad apples” policy — anyone not being respectful to the performers or fellow guests will be asked to leave without a refund.
